And the Church of Christ was Born…

Sunday message from Ptr. Joseph Etienne A. Morales of New Life North Metro.

Birth precedes in living.

From very beginning, when God created Adam and Eve, His plan is to create church.

As believer, we should never get away from Acts 2.

When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
Acts 2:1‭ NKJV

Breathing is essential to life. We don’t wake up and think if we will breathe or not, it’s automatic that we have to breathe because that’s how God designed us.

It’s like going to church on a Sunday morning, waking up and asking yourself, “Am I going to church or not?”. This simply means that you’re asking yourself if you want to be yourself or not. Why? Because you’re the church… you’re part of the church. Is there anybody more important than God?

Sometimes, we may reason out, “No, I can pray at home or watch gospel at home. I don’t need to go to church!” But that’s not the design. The church was designed where people go all together, in one place and in one accord. The church was designed for unity – to praise the Father, praise the Son, and praise the Spirit and this is the unity of God.

As Ptr. Paul Chase (founder of the New Life Christian Center) says, “Every step away from Pentecost is a step away from God’s intention for His church.”

The design of the church from the very beginning is we come together in one place, in one accord. We all have part, every single of us.

When we come to church, it opens the door for the manifestation of the Holy Spirit. He will move if we will give Him opportunity – and that’s God’s promise. The church gathering is the perfect opportunity for the Holy Spirit to display His glory. Never ever blame the Holy Spirit for being out of control because the Father is God of order.

Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born? Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.”
Acts 2:7‭-‬11 NKJV

The common and uncommon, the clean and unclean, the Jews and the Gentiles – all of them together were in one place, in one accord. The sound of the Holy Spirit moving to church, there’s a sound that was going to resonate in that house.

When the Holy Spirit speaks, the wonderful works of God moves. The gospel will be immediately revealed, it gives light, it gives understanding. This is like Peter when he started preaching because they were all filled by the Holy Spirit, everything was all about Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus! 3,000 people were added to 120! Where this was happened? At Temple Mount, the Eastern Wall of Jerusalem.

The Eastern Wall where the disciples used to hold a meeting. When they had finished, they came down where many people would come together. Because it’s only Jews who can enter that wall.

In Solomon’s Porch where Peter healed the lame man, five thousand people believed because of the testimony of one man. That’s why God wants us to move in our church because the gospel will make His people saved and there will be more people will come in the Kingdom of God. In this story, Peter was judged because he performed a miracle. And this still happens nowadays, we are being judged for the good deeds, that’s why we need to be continually filled by the Holy Spirit and guard our heart from condemnations.

God never asked to do miracle at our own strength, all we need to do is extend the act of God – because this came from Him. All He wants us to do is do good deeds, reach out people. That’s it! It’s not about your training, your bible school, your status – that qualifies you – just allow God to use you and He will move, just be with JESUS. He will never leave you, he will never forsake you.

Then he brought me back to the door of the temple; and there was water, flowing from under the threshold of the temple toward the east, for the front of the temple faced east; the water was flowing from under the right side of the temple, south of the altar. He brought me out by way of the north gate, and led me around on the outside to the outer gateway that faces east; and there was water, running out on the right side.
Ezekiel 47:1‭-‬2 NKJV

This is in Solomon’s Porch. The place where all miraculous happened. God is the God of pattern.

“This water flows toward the eastern region, goes down into the valley, and enters the sea. When it reaches the sea, its waters are healed. And it shall be that every living thing that moves, wherever the rivers go, will live. There will be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters go there; for they will be healed, and everything will live wherever the river goes.
Ezekiel 47:8‭-‬9 NKJV

Every single people that touches by the Holy Spirit will receive the eternal life. He will always bring life. This is the plan from the very beginning. Salvation would come from church. God will move from his house. He is the God of pattern and order.

Now it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, and it was winter. And Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon’s porch. Then the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him, “How long do You keep us in doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.” Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me. But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one.”
John 10:22‭-‬30 NKJV

Jesus talks about salvation and baptism in Solomon’s Porch. Jesus didn’t do it because he’s the God, he did it because he was anointed by the Holy Spirit. He didn’t simply say, he was sent to redeem Israel. He said, He was sent to redeem YOU.

People expect a savior, but never expect Jesus Christ to be their Savior. Remember, He is in US and we are in HIM.

Don’t go to church just to fulfill your Sunday obligation, we must go to church because we are the church of Jesus Christ. We are the body of Jesus Christ. We are the representation of Jesus Christ.

God is gracious, merciful and powerful. Let’s not limit what He can do. He will never leave you and He will never forsake you.
