Hello. I am glad you found your way here.
My name is Claudette — though most people who know me call me Claude, and Claude Canta is the name I write under. It is a small but deliberate choice; this space belongs to the writer in me, the one who has been processing her life in sentences since long before she had an audience for them.
Who I am
I am a Filipino woman living in the Philippines, doing my best to hold together a full and sometimes beautifully overwhelming life.
By profession, I am the COO of a supply chain company and a freelance supply chain consultant for a New York-based brand. I have spent most of my career in operations, logistics, and people leadership; work I genuinely love, even on the hard days.
By faith, I am a follower of Jesus and a member of New Life North Metro church. My faith is not a category in my life; it is the category everything else sits inside.
By calling, I am an Evangelist writer.
Why I write
I started writing long before I called it blogging. It began as journaling; a way of making sense of seasons I did not have language for yet. Somewhere along the way, the journal entries became essays. The essays became a blog. And the blog became something I did not expect: a community of women who read themselves in these pages and needed to know they were not alone.
My Brightest Light is the ongoing record of what God is teaching me; through work, through marriage, through the particular exhaustion and joy of raising children who ask hard questions, through seasons of grief and healing and becoming.
I also write beyond the blog. My first book (that I have yet to publish), A Journey to a Fulfilled Life: Embracing God’s Plan, Gifts, and Purpose, drew on years of personal testimony and blog content. My second manuscript, Where the Light Gets In: A Journey Through Darkness Toward Wholeness, is a memoir in twenty-five chapters — the deeper story of how I found my way back to myself, and to God, through the cracks.
A little more
I am married to Allen, an Animal Nutritionist and Regulatory Officer who drove twelve hours through mountain roads so our family could celebrate a decade together in Sagada; and who keeps showing me, year after year, that love is mostly the quiet kind that just shows up. We are raising two children, my son and a niece who fills our home with energy and laughter.
Outside of work and writing, I am a fitness enthusiast slowly learning that showing up is the whole practice. I love to travel, especially when the destination involves mountains, cold air, and the kind of stillness that reorganizes your interior.
What I believe about this space
I believe that the most useful thing a writer can offer is honesty; not a curated version of a life, but the real one. The one with the car slipping on a forest path, the crying over a movie, the pizza dinner that becomes an unexpected confession about the future.
I believe that healing is not a destination but a direction; and that moving toward it, even slowly, is enough.
And I believe that the light does, in fact, always find a way in; which is why I write here, and why I keep coming back.
